Mid-Derbyshire MP Pauline Latham has praised the latest Budget, calling it a “good budget for jobs, tackling unemployment and a good budget for this country.”
Speaking after the Chancellor presented the Budget, Mrs Latham commended the policies to help businesses grow and increase employment as well as the need to help more people back into work.
She said: “This is a Budget that delivers security for working people in Mid-Derbyshire.
“I am happy that there are a significantly larger number of them today than there were in May 2010.
“It’s a Budget that keeps Britain moving from a low wage, high tax, high welfare economy to a higher wage, lower tax and lower welfare country.
“The new National Living Wage and tax cuts for working families will boost take-home pay for those who work hard and want to get on in life – meaning more financial security.
“Reducing the tax burden on businesses will create jobs and give more people the security of well-paid work.”
