A golden monkey has been spotted sitting on a wall at the side of a Derbyshire road.
Concerned reader Jenny Stanway was driving along Ripley Road in Sawmills at about 7.45pm on Friday when she saw the animal.
She said the long, golden-haired monkey - which was perched on a wall near a farm in the area - looked 'quite big'.
Jenny is concerned the animal may have escaped from somewhere.
She said: "It's a shame for it to be out there.
"I hope it's OK and returns to wherever it should be soon."
She added: "It was quite big and looked quite young. I had to laugh when I saw it.
"I phoned the police and they said they had received reports of missing cats and dogs - even a cow - but not a monkey like this one.
"A few weeks ago I read a newspaper report about a lady who'd lost her monkey.
"I wonder if it's the same one?"
