MORE than 30 displays will be on show at Belper’s Well Dressing festival, which is this weekend, July 9 and 10.
The wells will go on show at the town’s River Gardens, from midday on Saturday, July 9. They will remain on display until Thursday, July 14.
The blessing of the wells will be done by Rev Jonathan Page, of Christ Church, on Sunday, July 10, at 1.45pm.
Music will come from Mills and Chimney on Saturday, and from Belper Town Wind Band from 2pm-4pm on Sunday.
To see how wells are made go to Firestone House, Derwent Street, Belper, tonight, tomorrow or Friday, between 7pm and 9pm.
Thanks to Fleet Arts and Belper Town Council, Mills and Chimneys – a quintet – will take to the bandstand from 2pm.
The musicians – David Gibb, Julian Butt, Sarah Matthews, Elly Lucas and Mike Smith – will delight spectators with an afternoon of music and stories inspired by the Derbyshire landscape.
Sarah said: “We are very pleased to have an opportunity to perform in such a special setting.”
