New appeal over assault

Derbyshire Police have corrected an appeal for information over an alleged assault in Belper. As reported in the Belper News a woman was in Belper River Gardens when she got into a man’s carwho allegedly slapped her and pushed her and a two-year-old boy from the car.

The force initially said the attack took place on June 6, but it was between 4.50pm and 5.10pm on June 14. Witnesses should phone 101.

On Saturday, June 14 between 4.50pm and 5.10pm a woman was in Belper River Gardens walking her two-year-old grandson in a pushchair.

She stopped to speak to a man who she knew and got into his car where an altercation took place. The man then allegedly slapped her face and pushed her and the child from the car.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information is asked to contact PC James Shaw at Ripley Police Station using the 101 number.
