A SANDWICH shop in Belper is opening its toilets to the general public.
Subway, on King Street, will allow people who are not buying something from the shop to use its facilities.
It is part of a community toilet scheme being run by Amber Valley Borough Council.
Subway will receive £720 per year for taking part.
Rob Neal, who is manager of the shop, decided to sign up to the scheme.
He said: “People wander in off the street to use our toilets anyway.
“A customer told me that the council ran a scheme, so I enquired about it.”
The Subway toilets will be open to the public in the near future.
