LETTER: Taxes should be low in tough times
Local people who earn an income of £15,500 or less should be exempt from income tax and the tax burden on families would be reduced by a minimum of £900. '¨I believe that families deserve a tax cut.
The country needs less taxation not more taxation. Local people should keep more of their hard earned income. Consider this over a five year period, the individual would be on average £4,500 better off and a couple would be £9,000 better off. I know that household bills are not paid by tax rises but by tax reductions. I believe in low taxation in tough times.
