Pair who attacked and robbed Chesterfield man on his doorstep are jailed

David Edge and Nicky Mikysa knocked on the door of a house on Stubbing Road, Chesterfield, late at night. When the occupant answered the door, he was grabbed by the throat and forced to the ground.

He was assaulted and had cash stolen by the men, who then walked off.

The 34-year-old victim needed hospital treatment after the robbery, which happened at about 10.40pm on May 9 this year.

Edge, 30, of St Augustine’s Avenue, Chesterfield, and 27-year-old Mikysa, of Kendal Road, Chesterfield, were arrested a few days later and subsequently charged with robbery.

They both pleaded guilty to the offence at Derby Crown Court on September 29 and were jailed for four-and-a-half years each.
