Park attack on man, 21

A 21-YEAR-old man was punched in the head “a number of times” in an unprovoked assault in Belper.

The victim was walking through the recreation ground, off Mill Lane, in the town on Saturday, June 11.

A police spokeswoman said: “He was set upon and punched in the head a number of times by two or three males. One of them grabbed him and punched him.”

The attack happened between 10pm and 11pm. The man suffered cuts and grazes.

Police say the attackers did not say anything to the victim, nor did they steal anything from him.

The only description the man could give was the attackers were all about 5ft 8in tall and wearing dark clothing. One was wearing a black and white jacket and another looked chubby.
