Brandon, five, pushes the button to reopen the Heights of Abraham cable cars
Brandon has been waiting for the cable cars to start ever since his fifth birthday. Unable to take the Derwent Valley flight in February due to the Covid lockdown, his mum Elaine contacted the Heights of Abraham to try and purchase some goodies for his birthday.
The company were happy to provide a cable car goodie bag, a personal signed photo of a cable car engineering team, and an invitation to push the button on reopening day.

He was joined by Rupert (Heights Director) and Sophie Pugh along with daughter Georgie for the short ceremony.
After the ceremony Brandon and his family travelled on the cable car to the summit to explore the 60 acre estate and woodland playground.
Elaine Baines said; “Brandon knows no fear. He told me he loves the cable cars because they move, they’re high, and they lead to a castle. This is a dream come true for him, it’s wonderful to see him so excited”.
Rupert Pugh said; “The 2021 tourism season is finally underway here in Derbyshire’s Peak District and we’re delighted that Brandon is able to join us”.
