Toys, teddies, clothes for adults and children, small appliances, and tinned food can be donated at the school’s building at Broad Pavement, Chesterfield between 7.30am and 6pm every day until Friday.

Rebeca Torinca-Surness, one of the managers at the nursery said: “We are doing what we can to help as much as possible as a community. Luckily our school and staff were not affected, sadly some of our pupils’ families have been affected by the floods. All the items donated will be distributed among those in Chesterfield who need them the most.”

This comes after parts of Chesterfield have been left under water – with 20 residents rescued from The Goyt Side and an elderly lady killed by the flood at her home in Tapton Terrace.
