A free event will be hosted in Chesterfield this Sunday to collect funds for memory boxes, which will support parents who have lost their babies.

Chloe Colbeck, 27, from Chesterfield lost her little son Byron just three years ago and alongside her friend Jodie Forrest, 30, she has been supporting families who go through similar tragedies since 2019.

This Sunday Chloe and Jodie will host a family fun day to raise funds to support parents whose babies have passed away. The event will take place at Hasland Village Hall between 3pm and 7pm and will include activities for kids, teenagers and adults such as Christmas crafts, pony rides, party play bus, craft stalls, variety of food stalls, the emergency services visits and special character guests.

Chloe said: “We are now going into our third year of fundraising and we wanted to bring some fun into doing something special for families who are going through the unimaginable tragedy of losing a baby. It is a first time we are organising a big event like this and it wouldn’t happen without Jodie. She's been helping us from day one.”

Everyone who attends the event on Sunday will be able to take part in a raffle with 53 prizes including pony visit at Unicorn Pony Parties, softplay visits, football tickets, cheese boards, Amazon vouchers and many more.

Chloe said: “We have had so many local businesses donate prizes for our raffle which has been amazing. Tesco and Morrison's both donate and they've been absolutely amazing. We are so thankful for the kindness!”
