Father-of-five Geoff Evans carries out litter picks in Clowne and Stanfree and is a regular sight by the side of local roads weeding, mowing and cutting back hedges for the benefit of the two communities.
Now an online fundraiser has been organised to highlight Geoff’s work and raise cash for a new bike which will make his daily litter pick duties easier.

Hide AdGeoff has also won the praise of people posting on the popular Clowne Covid-19 support group, who describe him as a ‘hero’ and a ‘star’ for his efforts.
His daughter Lisa Elliott said: “I'm just as proud of my dad as the hundreds of Clowne and Stanfree residents on Facebook who appreciate the fantastic work he does to keep the villages looking tidy.
“My dad has always helped to keep the villages where he's lived tidy and clean. He has always picked up any litter he sees. He brought his children up to not drop litter and he gets so upset to see rubbish just thrown on the street.”
Lisa says her dad enjoys his community work and receives a wonderful response from people in the community who see him out and about.

When news of the fundraiser was posted on Facebook, Clowne residents were quick to share their stories of Geoff and sing his praises.
