determined residents have the support of town councillors as they fight proposals to build more mobile phone masts in Belper.
Vodafone and O2 want to put up shared masts in two locations in the town.
Their proposals would see masts erected on Park Road and on the junction of Marsh Lane and Laund Nook.
People who opposed the Marsh Lane plan told a meeting of Belper Town Council that the mast would loom over their homes.
The final decision on the mast will rest with Amber Valley’s planning board, although protestors have been advised to write objection letters.
Last month, The News reported on Park Road resident Helen Grimwade, who was shocked and dismayed to learn of the plans.
The mother-of-two, whose sons are aged 13 and five, said she spoke up because she wanted to give local people a chance to object.
