The service, delivered by Glow’s team of IDVAs in Derbyshire, provides support to victims at high-risk of serious harm or homicide from domestic abuse. IDVAs work with victims from the point of crisis, carrying out risk assessments, creating safety plans and advocating for them with other agencies.

The work of an IDVA is varied and often carried out in different settings such as hospitals, courts and in the community. They are highly trained and specialist workers who are able to quickly adapt their support depending on the needs of each customer.

Glow’s Head of Domestic Violence and Abuse Services, Lucy Willis, said that the successful retender will help the charity continue to ‘keep high-risk victims safe’.

She said: “We’re really proud of our IDVA service in Derbyshire and we’re thrilled to have been successful in the recent tender.

“IDVAs are an extremely important part of the work that we do to protect victims and survivors of domestic abuse. They are highly skilled, specialist workers that support those at the highest risk of serious harm or homicide due to abuse.

“Our mission at Glow is to address, overcome and end domestic abuse and our IDVAs are a vital part of that. “
