Re-launch for 50 plus forum

A forum for people aged over 50 is re-launching and hoping to find new members at the same time.

The Belper 50+ Forum is holding its re-launch event at the Lion Hotel in Bridge Street, Belper on Friday, September 7 between 10am and 2pm.

The forum is hoping the drop-in event will attract new members including people to sit on the committee, a new chair and vice-chair.

A wide range of local groups and organisations will have stands at the re-launch event including Derbyshire police, the Dalesman Male Voice Choir, the Belper Historical Society, Amber Valley CVS, Derbyshire Link and the Belper Stroke Club.

The Belper 50+ Forum currently has nearly 200 members and new members are welcome to join up on the day.

It is one of 15 successful forums running across the county

Derbyshire County Council Cabinet Member for Adult Care Councillor Charles Jones said: “The forums are a very good way for local people to get their voices heard and to make a difference in their local communities.

“I am sure the re-launch in Belper will prove a success and recruit new members to help the forum go from strength to strength.”
