READERS could be in with a chance of winning a £400 iPad2 by signing up for Derbyshire County Council’s new ebook loan service.
The authority is giving away the device to anyone who registers for ebooks and borrows or reserves one by Saturday, December 10.
Derbyshire County Council leader and cabinet member for culture Councillor Andrew Lewer said: “The new free ebook loan service has really taken off and is proving very popular with our members. We hoped to have around 500 signed up by now, but we are already have more than 1,000 and with lots of new titles and even easier downloading, we expect to welcome many more.”
To be in with a chance of winning the prize register at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/ebooks. The iPad2 can be used for reading ebooks, surfing the web, checking email and watching films. The county council is spending £18,000 on its ebook catalogue.
