Hide AdCommunity Safety Inspector Russ Dakin said: “I would like to encourage residents to remain cautious and to report any suspicious activity to us on 101 to help us to prevent a crime from happening.
“If someone calls at your door, always ask for identification and if they are selling goods, ask for their pedlar’s certificate. Remember, genuine callers will not mind assisting while you make these checks.
“Do not feel pressured into buying from a caller. Question whether you really need the goods or services they are offering and don’t be obliged to buy or sign up to anything on the spot. You may get a better deal if you shop around or get alternative quotes.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101.
