AN Indian Restaurant in Duffield has been “highly commended” in a prestigious scheme that celebrates culinary diversity across the UK.
Okra, of New Zealand Lane, received the honour in the Tiffin Cup after being nominated by Mid-Derbyshire MP Pauline Latham.
Ms Latham presented the venue with a personalised, embroidered chef’s jacket and certificate of honour.
The MP, who represents Belper, said: “I am delighted that Okra has been highly commended in the Tiffin Cup.
“This is an extremely prestigious award.
“To be honoured in this way really is testament to the fantastic efforts of all of the staff at Okra. It also recognises the truly superb restaurant that we have on our doorstep!”
