Several passengers and a car driver were taken to hospital following a collision near Swanwick on Tuesday.
Fire crews from Alfreton and Crich were called to Derby Road in the Butterley area after a Vauxhall Safira collided with a bus shortly after noon.
The driver of the car was trapped and had to be removed using cutting equipment to remove the rear side door.
Ambulance crews transported the driver to hospital. Further ambulance crews were required to take four of the bus passengers to hospital after they suffered minor injuries in the incident.
Police attended the scene to recover the vehicles. The road was reopened at around 3pm.
