Robbery bid in Heage

A member of staff was punched in the face at a Heage convenience store on Sunday.

Police are treating the attack at the Fourways store on Park Road as attempted robbery and have issued a description of the offender.

At around 8.10pm a man walked in and punched a male member of staff in the face.

The victim hit back by pushing a counter door which flung the offender backwards into a display of wine bottles. The offender then ran off.

The offender is described as a white male in his mid-20s, between 5ft 10ins and 6ft tall, and of stocky build with short black hair. He wore a black jumper and jeans.
