Cute puppy Rosie, who is just 11 weeks old, is the latest adorable animal to be entered into our Husee Derbyshire Pets on Parade Competition.

The little Yorkshire terrier mixed with chihuahua - known as a ‘Chalkie’ -belongs to Brenda Maddock, of Loom Close, Belper.

Meanwhile, comically named Captain Rufus and his tiny doggy pal Willi are the first pets to be entered as a pair- by Mr G Riley, of Ambergate.

And continuing last week’s You’ve Been Framed style of entry, Amy Campion, of Belper, has sent in a shot of her cat Rufus relaxing with some headphones on.

Also wanting to get his paws on the prize is ten-year- old King Charles dog Henry who was photographed posing in his Ambergate garden by owner Brenda Blount.

They are all in with a chance of winning six months’ worth of free pet food, with second place receiving a three-month supply and third place a Husse hamper.

Send your entries in jpeg format by email to, or hard copy prints to Pets on Parade, Belper News, 8 Heanor Road, Ilkeston, Derbsyhire, DE7 8ER, or drop them off at our community postbox at News corner, top of King Street, Belper.

Just two pictures per pet and you MUST include your full name, address and day and evening contact numbers.

The competition is only open to cat and dog owners.

We will run entries that make the final at a later date when readers will be able to vote for their favourite, with the one with the most votes declared our winner. Usual Belper News competition rules apply.
