Rotarians generated nearly £2,000 which will be used to support local charities with a charity race night.

The Rotary Club of Belper and Duffield staged the event in aid of good causes such as the Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre.

Firms in and around Belper supported the evening by sponsorship of the races and ‘buying’ horses.

A fish and chip supper was also supplied to race-goers by the King Street Fish Bar, which was included in the price of the £10 ticket.

A model race track, built and operated by Dave Ashley,
allowed everybody to participate in the fun evening.
