A TEAM of intrepid Scouts from Belper triumphed in an annual incident hike competition.
Scouts from 1st Openwoodgate were the winners of the event, which starts and finishes at Black Rocks, in Cromford, and is in its fifth year.
On a six-mile route in the surrounding countryside, teams of Scouts were tested on their navigational skills and set a number of challenges, including friction fire-lighting, tent-pitching, and problem-solving.
Scouts from 1st Duffield troop claimed the runners-up spot, while last year’s winners, the 4th Belper, finished third.
Rob Morley, of Belper District Scout Council, said: “Well done to all the Scouts who took part in the event and a big thankyou to all the volunteers who gave up their free time to help run the event.”
