Solicitor’s tail wags at big event

A SOLICITOR who is based in Belper is to play a key role in this year’s World Sheep Dog Trials.

Nigel Davis is chairman of the organising committee for the forth International Sheep Dog Society (ISDS) World Trials, Food and Country Festival, which is being held in Cumbria from September 15 to 18.

His company, which specialises in agricultural law, has an office on his home farm at Carr Hall Farm, Turnditch, Belper.

Nigel, who has more than 35 years experience in his chosen field, also farms Rough Fell sheep and Hereford cattle on his Belper farm.

He has been involved with sheep dog trials for almost 30 years and has in the past competed himself.

A total of 240 handlers and their dogs from 23 competing nations will compete in the World Trials, which is set to be one of the highlights in this year’s northern events calendar.

It will be the first time the event has been held in England. For more info go to
