A SPEECH and language therapist from Belper got the chance to speak up about communication disability when she visited the Houses of Parliament.
Lisa Salton met with Mid-Derbyshire MP Pauline Latham to discuss the work that speech and language therapists do.
Mrs Latham said: “I was very pleased to be able to discuss and learn more about the fantastic work that speech and language therapists do.
“Twenty-per-cent of the population experience speech, language or communication difficulties at some point in their life.
“This means it is vital that we understand the importance of this issue.”
Lisa was one of many speech and language therapists from across the country who went to London to talk with their local MP about the occupation.
