A young choir is to perform a concert at St Peter’s Church in Belper to raise funds for an orphanage in Kenya.
The Hogan Ensemble will sing a varied programme on Saturday, August 24, at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £10 and include refreshments (wine and soft drinks), and are available by calling 01773 828772, or on the door. The concert will raise funds for the Chesterfield Road church and also for the CHIKS (Children’s Home in Kenya Support) Project.
This group was formed in Crich in 2010 in response to the desperate situation of children orphaned in villages in Kenya due to HIV Aids. Volunteer Christine Bryan said: “So far the CHIKS group have raised £12,500, due to the generosity of local people, but this much again is needed to enable the building and running of this much needed home.”
