STAFF from a Belper opticians will be lacing up their walking boots ahead of a 15 mile walk in aid of the British Heart Foundation (BHF) on Sunday July 29.
The team at Belper Specsavers on King Street will be walking the Heritage Walk, a route which will see them pass through Belper, Milford, Little Eaton, Derby and Elveston Castle.
Andy McBride, store director at Specsavers in Belper, says: ‘The walk should take us about six hours to complete, which will be quite tough - I’m sure a few of the team will be hobbling in to work on Monday!
‘We’ve been raising money for the BHF throughout June as part of fundraising initiative which involved Specsavers stores from across the east and west midlands. Because we feel so passionate about the charity, we’ve decided to extend our support into July, pulling on our hiking boots in a bid to raise as much money as possible.’
The BHF is the nation’s heart charity, dedicated to saving lives through pioneering research, patient care, campaigning for change and by providing vital information. The charity relies on donations of time and money to continue their life-saving work. For more information please visit www.bhf.org.uk.
