MEMBERS of two Safer Neighbourhood policing teams in Belper have joined forces to tackle speeding in the town and surrounding villages.
PCSO Sarah Spencer and PCSO Paula Martin will be armed with a speed gun on a number of roads over the next two months.
It comes after residents highlighted speeding as a priority concern at a neighbourhood panel meeting.
Sgt Richard Booth said: “If a motorist is caught speeding their vehicle registration will be recorded and a letter will be sent to their home address advising them of the speed they were travelling and the dangers of breaking the limit. The teams will be updating residents at future Neighbourhood Panel meetings of the success of the initiative.”
