The owners of a Belper kennels have issued a ‘huge thank-you’ to everyone who helped in their Christmas appeal for Ashbourne Animal Welfare.
In the run-up to the festive period, Dalley Dog Retreat has been asking the public to donate unwanted blankets and food to help animals who will be spending the festive season waiting for new owners.
The Dalley Lane kennels, which provides day care, overnight stays and holiday boarding, delivered the donations to the rescue centre on Wyaston Road in Ashbourne on Monday December 21.
Owner, Jade Jones, said: “The response from the public was astounding - we were inundated with tins, bags and sacks of food, biscuits, doggy Christmas stockings, blankets and towels.
“Now we want the very generous people of Belper to see just where their donations went.”
Ashbourne Animal Welfare operates The Ark Rescue and Rehoming Centre for unwanted and stray cats and dogs and provides care as well as any necessary veterinary care prior to adoption.
The charity has helped over 7,000 animals to date.
