LOCAL historian Adrian Farmer delighted regulars at a club for the elderly in Belper with a talk on how people in the town have enjoyed themselves over the years.
Former Belper News editor Adrian went along to a recent meeting of the Autumn Club, which is for elderly people and those who cannot get out of the house often.
He gave a talk and showed images of Belper celebrations, focusing on processions, carnivals, fairs and festivals.
Adrian said: “The earliest image I could find was from 1874, and they went right up to the 1990s.
“It was the first time I’d given the talk and it seemed to evoke a lot of fond memories for the club members.
“Some of them spotted themselves and family members at events.”
The Autumn Club meets regularly at the Strutts Centre, on Derby Road.
