A completion date for the new £400,000 Edwardian tearooms in Belper’s River Gardens has been revealed.
A report to Amber Borough Council’s cabinet on parks and open spaces in the borough has put a target on the development as September 2014.
Plans for the Swiss Tearooms replacementwere submitted to the authority in October.
The Belper News exclusively unveiled new designs for the three-winged attraction, following months of speculatation over the development in July.
The building is two floors, the first floor will have seating for approximately 55 people and will include the servery. The second floor will be for food preparation.
The old tearooms at the River Gardens had been boarded up for years. The gardens re-opened after a £250,000 reconstruction of the promenade in August 2009.
