BELPER rail commuters will be among those affected by an East Midlands Trains strike next week.
Bosses at the train company pledged to continue running services for passengers despite the industrial strike action by the ASLEF train drivers union.
However, they have confirmed passengers travelling to Matlock and Derby will be offered a bus replacement service after union members refused to accept new pension arrangements.
Drivers have also “overwhelmingly” voted in favour of taking strike action on May 1, 3, 8, 10, 15 and 17.
A reduced service was also in operation for passengers travelling on from Derby to London, although rail chiefs said an hourly service would be running on the “majority” of strike days.
