TV's Adam Henson opened Denby Retail Village's farm shop
More than 300 people turned up to see Countryfile presenter, Adam Henson, open the new Farm Shop at the Denby Pottery Village.
Adam who has been a regular face on screens since 2001 threw a pot, bought a pork pie and pottery after signing copies of his new book.
In his opening speech he told crowds of his love of pottery and had he not been a farmer he would of been a potter.
Linda Salt public relations manager for Denby said: “Adam said as this combines both of his loves,he should have come here sooner but plans to return.”
He said: “I believe that Britain produces the best food in the world and farm shops offer everyone the opportunity to enjoy great quality produce whilst supporting British farmers and producers.
“I have a strong affection for Derbyshire and I have fond memories of the county having completed a year’s work experience at the Chatsworth Estate. As a child I loved pottery and even considered potting as a career so it’s quite special to me to be opening the Denby Pottery Village Farm Shop”.
Linda said although the sun never made an appearance on Friday, April 1 the rain did hold off.
She added: “He was very approachable and just like he is on Countryfile and he made time to chat with people.”
