Two charged after fight at Chesterfield bus stop

Two men have been charged with public order offences following an alleged altercation at a bus stop in Chesterfield.

Police were called at around 3.10pm on Monday, January 18 following reports of two men fighting at a bus stop on Beetwell Street.

Two men were arrested and later charged with public order offences in connection with the incident.

Zaccary Sedgwick, 22, of Springvale Close in Danesmoor is set to appear before magistrates in Chesterfield on Tuesday, March 8.

Mark Elson, 28, of no fixed abode has also been charged and remanded in police custody.

Sergeant Dave Nicholls from the Chesterfield Town Centre Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “We have recently had issues at bus stops in the town and I would like to remind the public that these incidents will not be tolerated in our community. Anyone who is found to be acting anti-socially or causing an issue will be dealt with robustly.”
