Two good causes to benefit from Strutt grants

Community groups in Belper are set to receive a total of £330 thanks to donations from the Herbert Strutt Charity.

Two organisations are being gifted funds following a recent meeting of the charity’s management committee.

Milford Primary School has been awarded £180 to help towards the costs of a school trip to visit the Russian Federal Space Agency in Korolev, just outside Moscow.

And the Friends of Saint Faiths have been given £150 to help towards the research and writing of a book about the history of Saint Faith’s Church and the rural hamlet and community of Belper Lane End.

Belper Town Councillor Alan Cox, Chairman of the charity’s management committee, said: “This latest set of grants should help to make a difference to people’s lives in Belper and Milford.

“The Herbert Strutt Charity has spent over £150,000 supporting individuals and community groups since it was set up in 1986.”
