A HUNDRED race-goers were clearly ready for the ‘off’ when they raised more than £1,000 for Belper’s Strutts Centre.
The ‘punters’ packed into the Derby Road venue’s main hall to place their bets on a fun night.
Anne Sadler, the chairman of Strutts’ Events and Social Committee, said: “It was a fantastic night full of fun for everyone — even if they didn’t win.
“People were delighted with their delicious pie and pea supper, cooked by Peak Catering Consultants.
“A big thank you to Vanda Hollinshead-Rowell, whose business ActionCOACH sponsored the event, Lockwoods who gave us the peas, to Amber Valley Rotary Club who ran the event and to our eight race sponsors too.”
