Last Saturday, as part of a Belper Arts Festival event, members of Rough Truffles Community Choir serenaded the bus queue and passers-by in King Street outside Poundland.
The members performed an original song praising the town’s ‘Sixes’ bus service.
The song was just one of many performances by local actors and singers, including theatre pieces, monolgues and poetry, on the ‘Belperamble,’ a guided walk around Belper town centre with surprises and entertainment along the way.
Four walks took place during the day last Saturday and this year’s theme was transport. All pieces were original and written by local writers, including George Gunby, Adrian Farmer, Siobhan Fennell and Tracey Wilkinson. Tracey also composed the music and lyrics for the Sixes Song.
The Belperamble was created and directed by Sali Gresham.
