Derbyshire Police are on the lookout for people who want to join the force and help protect communities across Derbyshire.
The police are looking for people from all walks of life, who have a passion for helping others and are hungry for a challenging career like no other.
As part of the campaign, they will be releasing short videos to give an insight into what a career as a police officer entails, and the opportunities you’ll have to progress within the force.
Since previous recruitment campaigns the police have made a few important changes to the application process.
For a start, your entire application will be completed online via the new e-recruitment portal on the Careers pages of the force website.
They have launched this to make the whole process smoother, so as soon as you press submit they can get to work reviewing your application.
Another change they have made for this recruitment window is that there’s no fixed end date yet. This will give prospective candidates more time to work on their application, to make sure it’s the absolute best it can be.
Deputy Chief Constable Peter Goodman, whose career has been spent in West Midlands Police, Nottinghamshire Police and Derbyshire, urged anyone who was interested to give it a shot.
He said: “As a police officer, you will find that no two shifts are the same and the people you deal with and the incidents you attend will each be vastly different to the next. It is a hugely challenging role that will test you every single day – but it is a fascinating and endlessly rewarding role, too.
“You’ll be helping us to protect our diverse communities, to safeguard vulnerable people and children, and to bring criminals to justice.
“You will not just be joining a police force that is rated as one of the best in the country; you will be joining a policing family full of dedicated individuals who put others before themselves and want to get out there to serve the public.
“It is a unique career and I would urge anyone who is interested to read the information on our website, and to get started on their application.”
Positive action has been a focus for recruitment campaigns – and this year is no different.
Derbyshire Police are dedicated to equality and diversity, both within the organisation and in the service we provide.
They want the constabulary to reflect the communities they serve, and so they’re urging people from all backgrounds to consider applying.
Over the past few weeks, they have been running a poster campaign across the county, with information appearing on bus shelters and phone boxes in areas of Derby and Chesterfield.
