A FIVE-mile sponsored walk around Belper has raised £241 for the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) Mending Broken Hearts Appeal.
Around 25 people took part in the Walk of Hope, which was organised by the Little Eaton, Belper and Duffield BHF branch to raise sponsorship in aid of the charity’s 50th anniversary fundraising appeal.
Branch chairman Sue Moore, of Little Eaton, said: “We are thrilled that our first sponsored walk went so well, and everyone said they can’t wait for the next one.
“We named it the Walk of Hope as funds raised will go towards the Mending Broken Hearts Appeal.
“This appeal will give hope to millions of heart failure patients and the branch is proud to support this ground-breaking research project.”
Sophie Jardine, BHF fundraising volunteer manager in Derbyshire, said: “We are extremely grateful to them for organising the walk.”
