Warning to Belper motorists after spate of thefts

Police are warning motorists to be vigilant following a spate of thefts from insecure vehicles.

Officers are advising drivers to ensure their vehicles are locked when they are left unattended.

The appeal comes after thieves targeted a number of insecure vehicles in recent weeks, stealing valuable items from within.

In the early hours of the morning on Monday November 2, offenders stole a laptop from a vehicle on Morrell Drive in Belper.

Similar incidents have also been reported recently in the surrounding areas, including Duffield.
