CHEVIN Golf Club in Duffield has raised £3,100 for the Stroke Association.

The club’s lady captain Ros Kamping chose the association as her charity of the year because both of her parents died of strokes. The money was raised during the year, with a fashion show, golf competitions and a charity golf day in May.

Ros praised those who helped raise the cash and added: “I have seen the effect strokes have, not only on the patient but on a family. I wanted to help an organisation that provides support for those whose lives are turned upside down so suddenly and to such devastating effect.”
