Food-lovers can scoop free entry to a top Derbyshire culinary event after the Belper News teamed-up with organisers to stage a competition.
Two celebrity chefs will be tickling the taste buds of visitors to Derbyshire County Council’s annual Derbyshire Food and Drink Fair on Saturday, May 18, and Sunday and May 19, which is being held at Elvaston Castle for the first time.
Cook, author and broadcaster Valentine Warner will share his cooking skills on the Saturday, with TV chef Rosemary Shrager taking over in the kitchen on the Sunday.
To mark the occasion, we’ve joined forces with the council to stage a simple-to-enter competition offering two pairs of tickets worth £10 each for Saturday’s fair.
Around 14,000 people are expected to attend over the two days – with more than 150 stallholders selling produce from Derbyshire and further afield.
Stephanie Walsh, organiser of the Derbyshire Food and Drink Fair 2013, said: “Our food and drink fair goes from strength-to-strength and is a fantastic day out for all the family.
“The fair also helps the county’s economy by providing a wonderful opportunity for food and drink businesses to raise their profile.
“The grounds of Elvaston Castle will provide a superb setting for this year’s event. I’d encourage people to enter our competition – and get the date in their diary so that they don’t miss out.”
Highlights of the extravaganza will include Valentine and Rosemary whetting appetites in the fair’s popular cookery theatre – sponsored for the second year running by McArthurGlen East Midlands Designer Outlet.
The weekend’s menu will also feature a high quality arts and crafts section with around 50 local artists showcasing wares ranging from contemporary art to traditional craftworks.
