AN ENERGETIC woman who used to live in Idridgehay will attempt to become the first woman in the world to complete a daunting ultra-triathlon.

Rachael Cadman, 30, who now lives in Lincoln, has spent the last two years in training for the Enduroman Arch2Arc challenge, which takes place next month.

It sees athletes run, swim and cycle from Marble Arch in London to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.

Rachael, who will be raising cash for armed forces charity Help for Heroes and international disaster relief charity ShelterBox, said: “The final weeks prior to the challenge will see my training and nerves reach a peak. I am really looking forward to attempting this event which has only been completed by seven other people — all men.”

Challengers must run 87 miles from London to Dover, swim the English channel and cycle 187 miles from Calais to Paris.
