Belper Pottery's Dickie Cup chances bite the dust in quarter-finals
Hopes of a knockout upset for Belper Pottery bit the dust when Premiership side Rowditch were too strong for them in the quarter-finals of the Dickie Cup.
Four first-choice bowlers were unavailable, and only Ken Fox was able to get the better of Pottery’s illustrious opponents.
However, their solid home form did enable them to post a 10-2 (198 shots to 162) victory over fellow relegation strugglers Little Eaton in Division Two of the South Derbyshire Men’s League. Steve Bennett led the way with a 21-8 success.
In the same league, Richard de Saeger made it ten wins from 12 matches for Hazelwood, who cruised to an 11-1 triumph over Stretton A in the Third Division. And in the Second Division of the Belper Ladies League, Belper Meadows won 7-3 at Little Eaton.
