Mark Footitt and Tony Palladino have signed two-year contract extensions with Derbyshire CCC, committing them both to the club until the end of the 2016 season.
Footitt, who joined the club in 2010, and plays his Derbyshire Premier League cricket with Denby CC, has enjoyed his most successful season to date in 2014, claiming 54 first-class wickets at an average a shade over 20.
The left-arm paceman has also claimed 19 wickets in the one-day competitions this season, including career-best List A figures of 5-59 versus Leicestershire at Grace Road in July.
Palladino has also been an essential part of the seam bowling attack this year, claiming 33 first-class wickets at 26 apiece. He has also added valuable lower-order runs with the bat in 2014.
Elite performance director Graeme Welch said: “We’re delighted that Mark and Tony have committed themselves for the foreseeable future. The pair are both senior bowlers and will be integral parts of our bowling unit as we continue to build a winning squad for 2015 and beyond.
“When he’s on song, Mark adds something different because he’s left-arm and consistently up around 90 mph and I’m sure there’s still plenty more to come from him. Tony is a consistent performer in all forms and has proven that he can take wickets in all formats.”
