Duffield CC 1sts’ Jack Clark scored a fine century for his side in Saturday’s drawn game against Rolls Royce Leisure in Division One of the Derbyshire County Cricket League.

Rolls Royce won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Duffield lost Peter Jenkins and Paul Bakel early on but then Jack Clark teamed up with Matthew Goodacre (39) and Thomas Roe (30) to help his side to a very competitive total of 261-6 from their 50 overs.

Clark made 124 from just 127 balls, including 16 fours and two sixes.

Duffield then narrowly missed out on enforcing the victory as Rolls Royce ended their reply on 195-9.

An unbeaten last-wicket stand of 28 between Waseem Mohammed and Amir Iqbal proved to be the stumbling block for Duffield, for whom Adam Short took 3-21.

Jack Clark and Balraj Johal took two wickets apiece in the draw and Duffield are currently fourth in the table with five games left.

In the same division, Stainsby Hall drew their game with Rolleston.

Stainsby made 189-8 in 50 overs as Tom Wood top scored with 51.

Rolleston replied with 183-9 as the game ended with a tight finish.

As for Ambergate, they were at Ilkeston Rutland on Saturday.

Ambergate made 151-8 from their 50 overs. Ahtesham Yaqoob made 35 for his side while John Trueman took four wickets for Ilkeston.

Then Trueman was among the runs as Ilkeston Rutland replied with 152-7 to win by three wickets.

Trueman scored 31 and David Smit top scored with 34.

This Saturday, Stainsby Hall are away at Alfreton.

Duffield are heading for Staffordshire to play at Rolleston and Ambergate entertain Sawley and LE Park.
