Denby’s hopes of climbing up the ECB Premier League ladder were dashed after rain forced the abandonment of their match against Ockbrook & Borrowash.

The visitors had put on 188 from 45.5 overs with J Greenhalgh taking 3-40.

In reply, Denby were making a good fist of it at 25-0 when the weather intervened and forced the match to be called off.

Elsewhere, Duffield’s promotion hopes suffered a blow as they went down to defeat at Rolleston by 121 runs.

Despite C Sheldon’s 39, Rolleston’s L Nelson posted terrific figures of 6-22 to help dismiss Duffield for 133.
