DENBY CC fourths had two positive results to cap off a great season.
On Saturday, they reduced Matlock to 97 all out with good bowling from the ever-reliable Gary Foulke who took 3-22 and good support from spinners Joe Cherry with 3-29 and Hannah Glenn with 3-27.
Careless batting saw the Denby innings collapse to 37-5 before father and son came together in the form of Dave and Joe Cherry who made 35 and 27 respectively to secure the win.
On Sunday, they travelled to Nutbrok and came away with a winning draw in a tight game.
Paul Foulke made 50 and Ian Sherwood 43 not out as they made 202-8 from the allotted overs.
Nutbrook made a good effort to make the runs with the game ending in near darkness with them nine short of victory and Denby needing one wicket.
Joe Cherry was again in the wickets taking 3-64 & Harry Gee with his left arm pace offered a threat as he took 2-25.
These results were not quite enough to take the league title from Calow as they finished 11 points adrift but the season has been a good one for the fourths who won 14 games in all and are set for division eight next season.
