Denby remain at the foot of the Derbyshire Premier table after a three-wicket loss to Ockbrook & Borrowash.
Saturday’s fixture at The Copper Yard saw Ockbrook put the hosts into bat first - an inspired decision by the visiting side’s skipper Kevin Dean who had Denby at 3-1, 5-2 and 21-3.
Only Ben Chapman-Lilley registered a score of any note from the top four batsmen, making 30 from a steady 60 deliveries, as one of four batsmen to contribute scores in the 30s.
Kudzai Oliver Maunze (36), Mark Payne (31) and Billy Askey (30) were the others as Denby recovered to post a score of 199 all out from 49.2 overs.
Ockbrook had two bowlers take three wickets a piece; Oscar Gaunt (3-32 from 13.1 overs) and Joshua Lacey (3-61 from 15 overs).
Ockbrook opener Mykylo Bird anchored the run chase, carrying his bat through for an unbeaten 81 to lead his side to 202-7 from 45.3 overs.
His innings came from 130 deliveries and included six fours and two sixes as he and number four in Jacob Conners put on a third-wicket stand of 104.
Conners was the man to fall for 74 from 75 deliveries, including 15 fours, with the score on 151, but Bird led the reply from there for the win.
Pick of the Denby bowlers was Maunze, picking up 4-34 from his 11 overs.
