Dymond scores a ton as Amateurs draw game

Belper Amateurs 1sts drew their Division 5N encounter with Ilkeston Rutland 2nds on Saturday.

Amateurs won the toss and elected to bat first.

They lost two early wickets when Billy Deeming and Oliver Deeming were dismissed for single figure scores.

Belper Amateurs’ captain Stephen Dymond then stepped up to the plate and helped his side steady the ship.

He was the star man with the bat, eventually scoring 119 from 125 balls, a knock that included 19 fours and a six.

John Beard provided him with good support with a score of 46 and Chris Maleham chipped in with 21 to help them to 231-7 off 46 overs.

Joe Bird took four wickets for Ilkeston Rutland.

In reply, Ilkeston Rutland eventually made it to 202-8 from their 46 overs to draw the game.

Oliver Deeming took 4-36 while there was a wicket each for Paul Spencer and Jake Kington.

As for Amateurs 2nds, they were in Division 8N action against Butterley United 1sts and won by 65 runs.

Anthony Boucher scored 68 and Nick Rowton 58 out of an Amateurs total of 241-7. Butterley were then bowled out for 176.
